New article series are coming, what I will publish every single Monday, about happenings in life, new upcoming reviews and training of course. This will be a great opportunity to get in some regularity before we migrate the whole blog onto a proper website. It will take time, I will transfer a couple of important blogposts and articles and will leave a link here to the new domain. Actually the idea and the site is nearly ready, I just need a domain name.
In the meantime I got an Ipad finally for work and we changed the failing Crosscall Odysse+ of my wife to a Samsung S7. I wanted to get an I-phone to her, but she did not want. File sharing and app back up is much better when you don't need and intermediate software. AirDroid is great, but better to just use airdrop with one single touch to share documents, pictures and videos, but also to use things like Evernote and other apps.
Altimeter check on the Suunto and the Fenix 3 |
The testing of the Spartan Ultra is still going on strongly, but waiting for the next final proper update to really decrease all the differences inbetween the Fenix 3 and the Spartan. As not only an in-depth review but a full on comparison too will come soon.
Tigra Trio Optical heart rate and cadence sensor. |
I also received two devices to test, in addition. One is the LUMORUN, what is a biomechanical feedback device, as the name suggest, for runners. It calculates running metrics like hip drop and rotation, impact forces and more. The other is a cadence sensor with integrated optical heart rate what we can wear on the ankle or the upper arm. Both will be rigorously tested and compared to other devices in the upcoming weeks. Tigra Trio.

I am not a cyclist, but I commute on a cyclocross bike 8 to 10 times a week and go for a bike ride once or twice a week. I test out some mountain bikes and electric bikes too. So all together I keep bikefit all year around in case something serious comes up, like next year big col challenge, where we will lace together all the big cols on the Cote d'Azur: Col de l'Ecre, Col de Vence, (Mont Vial and col de Bleine), Col de Turini, Col de Braus , Dolce Aqua, Col de la Madone and Col d'Eze . Long day in the saddle with like 7000m of gain.
For this challenge I will be testing out some wheels and comfort items and nutrition. Starting with a saddle from Selle an Italian company. The hand made SMP Drakon. I have also an old bycicle frame, a Peugeot Ventoux, I might do it with that.
Training wise last week was about preparation. Lot of core training and some jogging and walking here and there, with muscular endurance and kettlebell workouts. I got to make my legs ready for the season, by doing a lot of strength and conditioning, flexibility and mobility.
